OPEN CALL
This event explores contemporary printmaking through two key themes.
Printmakers’ Garden focuses on materiality and process, reflecting on the slow, process-driven nature of print and its relationship with sustainability. It examines non-toxic techniques, reuse, and recycling in studio practice while embracing hybrid approaches that merge digital and traditional methods. Experimental techniques, saturation, and data-noise further push the boundaries of print’s material language.
Layers of Place explores memory and landscape in print. It considers how printmaking records personal and collective histories, responds to environmental change, and navigates political landscapes. Over-printing, glitches, and archival disruptions further challenge linear storytelling, revealing layered narratives within print processes.
Each talk will be 10 minutes, creating a dynamic exchange of ideas. The Open Call launches soon, welcoming contributions that push the boundaries of contemporary printmaking.
